I’ve just updated the database with about 250 ads from the year 1935; until today this was quite a big hole in the records… I still have to find new material from the 1920s and look forward to updating this blog accordingly.
I braved the cold to visit the January Classic Motorbike Show at Newark – ‘Normous Newark.’
I’m delighted to say that it was very busy, which bodes well for the Classic Bike movement… however it appeared to me that the majority of the stands were displaying Japanese classics rather than old British Iron. I get this; the majority of classic bike enthusiasts now are from a different generation and no different to ‘old farts’ like me whose dream bikes were, and still are from the 1950s & 60s.
However I think I’ve already said in these rants that my current ride is a 20 year old Suzuki SV650 but I’ve owned, ridden and enjoyed many Hondas over the years, including….
.. that it for now folks, back to the Ariel Adverts 1904-1964 compilation.
